As a publisher monetizing your site through Monumetric, you are working with us as an independent contractor. This means that Monumetric does not withhold taxes from your payments and that you are responsible for sending the IRS your legal dues or handling taxes in your own country.
After going live and getting access to the Console, your tax information was requested in the Settings section. You either need to select 'no' if you are not filing taxes in the United States or you will need to fill out the information requested which completes your W-9. This is required for us to process your 1099 form. You will not receive any payments until you have completed this section by selecting 'no' or filling out the form.
At the beginning of each calendar year, our accounting department files 1099s with the IRS and will email your form if you qualified for one in the previous year.
Important Notes about the 1099
- A 1099 is only created if you have been paid more than $600 for the year, either through one site or a combination of multiple sites using the same EIN or SSN. We do not file a 1099 for any publisher who was paid less than $600 in a year because it is not required by the IRS.
-
1099s are generated on a site-by-site basis for any site that was paid more than $600 per year. If you have multiple sites with Monumetric, you will receive an individual 1099 form for each qualified site that was paid more than $600. If you have multiple sites with the same EIN, and one was paid less than $600, the sites will be combined into one 1099.
-
Your 1099 is sent from a secure email called Track1099. This email is usually sent by the last week of January. If you haven't received the email, please check your junk or spam folder.
- We do not file a 1099 for corporations (S-corps or C-corps) because it is not required by the IRS.
-
If after January, you still have not received a 1099, email success@monumetric.com so we can check your account as we may need you to fill out a formal W-9 form for our accounting department to regenerate the 1099 for you.
