What Data is in the Ads.txt File?

The Ads.txt file contains specific information for every advertiser who can bid on your website’s ads. At the start of our partnership during Onboarding, your site was vetted and approved for each advertisers’ campaign spending. To ensure that only the approved advertisers buy ads on your site, every advertiser gave Monumetric their unique advertiser ID and criteria to post in your ads.txt file.

The file will display a line of information for each advertiser that looks like this:

< The Advertiser >, < Its advertiser ID >, < Their type of purchased inventory (industry info not highly relevant to us in PS) >, < An additional ID called a “TAGID” >

Due to advertisers having different purchasing roles in the industry, there may be multiple lines for the same advertiser with a different description in “< Their type of purchased inventory >” spot, ie. RESELLER or DIRECT.

No advertiser whose ID is missing or out of date can buy ads on your site.
